Kate Hamill's adaptation of Jane Austen's famous novel is playful, touching, and boldly theatrical, following the lives and troubles of sisters Elinor and Marianne and their family after their father's death leaves them poor and socially vulnerable in gossipy 18th century England where relationships and respectability are everything.
